Travel through Bali landscapes with Anima Soul Light’s lamps

Every year thousands of people visit the mystical “Island of Gods”, Bali, a place where lush tropical sceneries and postcard beaches intertwine with sacred Hindu temples and villages rich in life to create the perfect image of a paradise you will never want to leave.

Unlike other Indonesian islands, most Balinese people have been wholly devoted to Hinduism for centuries, to the point that Hinduism has become the most authentic soul of the island. Culture, traditions, history, nature, and even people’s daily lives. Everything is connected in a deep bond with this great religion; somehow, even Anima Soul Light is no exception.

What Hinduism teaches us about Bali

Hinduism was first introduced in the Indonesian archipelago in the 6th century. However, after the 14th century, the Muslims arose, and many Hindu islands were converted with no comeback.

Except for one: Bali.

The Hindu elite of the entire archipelago found a safe place in this land, and since then, their descendants have fought to protect and enrich their beliefs to the point that the island today is known as the “Land of Gods” worldwide.

Balinese people’s daily lives and society are permeated with the essence of Hinduism traditions handed down for generations. Their local village social structure is divided into some committees, such as the Banjar, whose goal is to organize the religious events, or the Subak, a second group of consultants that control the water supply for the rice fields (the economic hub of the island).

Everything in the island is based on the Hindu philosophy of the “Tri Hita Karana”, which states that happiness can be found by following three tenets:

  1. Respect the Gods
  2. Respect the community
  3. Respect the environment, Nature itself

Still today, the “Tri Hita Karana” is the overall ethos of the island, and it has been the great effort and love for the land of Balinese people that brought today Bali to be the beautiful touristic destination we all know.

Anima Soul Light’s role in “worshipping the Island of God”

As far as we have told until now, you can understand that Bali is not just a land pervaded by the spirit of Gods, but a home. It is a safe place where its citizens and tourists worldwide can search for themselves and find balance.

That is what the Anima Soul Light designers found on the island: the essence they want to share with their lamps.

As Bali, with its traditions, its people, and its astonishing landscapes, has been the light in the Anima Soul Light designers’ lives, now it is the turn for them to give their customers a series of products that can make them travel through the island.

The Italian designers involved in the project decided to pick some of the most notorious names of the balinese culture and principal tourist areas for their collection.

For example, the “Tanah Lot”. This lamp bears the name of one of the most, or even the most, important and most visited temples in Bali. Sited in an offshore rock of the Balinese coast, the Purah Tanah Lot temple has become a destination for tourists and Balinese people to make every-year pilgrimages to worship the sea gods of this area.

Another lamp named after a sacred land is the “Ubud”. Ubud is the spiritual and cultural capital of Bali, where hundreds of temples are nestled between the rice fields. If you ever visited this city, you would find that the “Tri Hita Karana” philosophy is fundamentally the pillar that holds the entire community and their respectful approach with the breathtaking simplicity of their natural scenarios.

At last, there is another lamp worth mentioning, which is “Agung”. Agung is an active volcano that dominates over the rich volcanic soil of the island. Even if the soft lines of the Anima Soul Light lamp could give you the idea that in this specific land resides a well-balanced spirit, it is not. Agung is one of the most feared elements on the island because its activity often influences the entire Bali weather.

So, if you cannot afford to go to Bali, take advantage of these lamps’ unique aesthetic to travel with your eyes through this beautiful land. We know you will not regret it!
